Photos by @ima.mermaidSo after posting about my new found love for my unicorn t-shirt by "The Mountain" a while back in this outfit post, something happened which I was completely not expecting. The Mountain actually dropped me an email to see if I wanted to work with them on a regular basis...and with the brand becoming a new favourite of mine how (the hell) could I not resist.
With that being said expect some "The Mountain" themed t-shirt outfits to appear on the blog over the course of the next few months, showing you lovelies how you can style your favourite t-shirts in multiple ways. For todays "cat themed" tee, which I've had my eye on owning ever since my sporting my bestie in one. I decided to keep with the pastel coloured theme and pair it with a pair of pale wash jeans (that I've been living in recently), that faux fur pink bag and a new case from Caseapp-with a purple "petrol" inspired design <3.

With the bodysuit being a huge trend this season I thought it was about time that I got my hands on one (or two...), as they're such a versatile item that can be worn in numerous ways. I also thought they'll be a good basic piece when building my holiday wardrobe (for the LA sunshine) come 3 months time. The holiday shopping will soon be commencing!
So when I spotted this Bardot inspired number in the Petite section (although I'm not usually "petite" but it seems to fit perfectly) as they didn't have this style in the regular line. I immediately fell for its off-the-shoulder short sleeve design, and simplicity. I know for sure that it will be piece that will be receiving some love come the warmer months. Especially as I am already dreaming up the outfits to style with...pleated tennis skirts and high-waisted denim shorts anyone?!

Last week I hoped on the train into London for a visit to the Barbican and a spot of shopping/exploring, as well as a much needed to catch up. The Barbican has been one of those places which I have been meaning to visit for too long, as I never really venture to that side of town for galleries. That being said it didn't disappoint, the exhibition we saw was the "Strange and Familiar" which was curated by the famed photographer Martin Parr. It was basically a series of photographs documented by international photographers of the social/political change of the UK from the 1930s.
There was an array of images including some iconic ones of the 60s Rolling Stones concert at Hyde Park, as well as ones by Henri-Cartier Bresson.
We actually ended up on Brick Lane (naturally) checking out the American Apparel pop-up store where everything was £1-£20. Bargain city. I picked up some steals whilst there too, including a bodysuit for £6, bikini top £4 and a cute USA bow for £2, as it's not everyday you come across an AA store under £20. If you ever around that area and a (huge) fan of AA then it's their till the 23rd.

That being said the book is a unique one and an interesting read. Especially as an avid emoji user myself, it was intriguing to see the evolution of the icons. From its Japanese word origins to become an accessible feature on your iPhone. It also goes on to show you how artists, designers and photographs have used this to influence their work-you should definitely check out "EMOJI IRL.LOL" by Liza Nelson. This book is undoubtedly one to read for the emoji obsessed.

Photos by @ima.mermaid // LookbookA fairly relaxed "Sunday" outfit gracing the blog today as the main purpose of this outfit was to layer up, as it was a particularly cold day. A recent investment of mine are these New Look "Girlfriend" jeans in a light wash, that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I love how they have a slight "mom jean" feel to them, but also how easy they are to style. I've literally been wearing them non-stop!
I also recent had my hair done-roots, lightened fringe and quite a few inches off the length. I have to say I love how light my hair feels, as anyone with incredible thick long hair will know how much of a headache it can be (quite literally). I'm currently toying with the idea of letting the purple/blue/pink remains fade and opting for a more silvery/white blonde tone, but at the moment I'm planning on toning the blonde parts to a more ashy-er shade to create an almost gradient/ombre effect with the remaining colour. But who knows my hair is always an experiment and forever changing...

This necklace is also part of the recent collaboration between Glitterbomb and the amazing illustrator "Sugar Coated Unicorns", besides from a jewellery range they have also created some kawaii inspired pieces clothing, that are definitely worth checking out if you are as kawaii obsessed as I am. So it only seemed fitting to pair the necklace with of my all-time favourite purchase- my UNIF "Frost" jumper for a fully pastel themed outfit.

As a huge Sailor Moon fan (if I could dress like her everyday...I would) you couldn't believe my delight when a 'sailor moon' themed jewellery package arrived on my doorstep from one of my favourite kawaii inspired accessory brands, Glitterbomb Jewellery. I absolutely love this "Luna Silhouette" necklace, as it's a subtle nod to Sailor Moon and can be paired with a variety of different outfits.
So for todays look I decided to pair it down with a few of my key wardrobe favourites, such as this denim jacket and pleated tennis skirt. I also decided to add a 'pop' of colour to the look with this red New Look bodysuit, which I recently picked up as I know it is going to be a key summer piece, come the warmer months.

So after taking what was initially only mean't to be a one week break that then rolled into two, from blogging I am now back feeling refreshed and motivated. I think sometimes you can get wound up into pressuring yourself to blog multiple times a week, almost forcing yourself to keep the 'ball rolling' when in fact the passion isn't there, and a break is very much needed. Hence my decision to just stop for a second and re-think where I want my blog to go.
I have also recently announced on twitter that I going to take the plunge and (attempt to) start making youtube videos. I might be late on the bandwagon, but it has always been a goal which I wanted to have a go at. With that being said I am thinking of creating a "Lookbook" style video, but I'm still indecisive on the theme. So if you have any suggestions let me know!
