Sometimes there are those pieces which seem to get "lost" amongst the "hustle and bustle" of ones' wardrobe. Never quite knowing when they will see the light of day again. It's a funny thing really. Once a item which you were in love with and therefore wearing at every occasion possible. To becoming one that's merely forgotten-or a new addition to the 'floor-drobe'.
Whilst rummaging through the archives (aka my wardrobe!) I came across this lace number, which was first seen on my blog a while back. It almost nostalgic to look back at that very first blog post (without that infamous hat) and how significant this dress has become. But also to see how both styles (and hair colours) have changed and shifted since then.  That's one of the reasons why I love blogging, as it becomes a "snapshot" of that particular moment in time. One which lasts forever (or until the internet is no more). Yet being one to look forward in life (hardly ever at the past), it thrills me to see what future snapshots will be captured on this humble ol' blog.

The Kimono. It probably comes as no surprise but this humble piece of clothing is one which I've been particularly fond of, as of late. So when my auntie picked up this number (the family are somewhat aware of this obsession, in its floral, fringing glory. It has become one of those statement pieces which instantly adds that special something to a simple looking outfit. Paired with these "be-dazzled" sandals - a duty free Zara purchase. I'm a magpie at heart, and sometimes there's nothing wrong with adding a 'bit of bling' to ones' wardrobe. Even if it is through a pair of shoes.

After landing home last Tuesday morning, from a trip that will soon be documented in a "Postcards from Florida" post very soon. We re-packed our bags for a mini-roadtrip round the South of Wales on that Thursday and Friday. The road trip consisted of getting my "surf-chick" on for a spot of surfing along Llangennith, exploring the grounds of the "fairytale castle" that is Castell Coch and then wandering around a town called Brecon- which including a spontaneous boat trip along the canal. It's fair to say that it was one of those weeks where thousands of miles were travelled, across both sides of the atlantic.

Kate Spade.

It probably comes as no surprise that I have a penchant for the *odd* handbag. Whether that's a bargain buy that falls into (or on) ones arms, or a designer purchase that is irresistible. You know how Carrie Bradshaw has a thing for spending her pay checks on a certain Mr. Manolo Blahnik shoes. Well that's me, except substitute the "Blahnik's" for handbags. Some may call it a (slight) "addiction". I, on the other hand, see it as a "hobby". There's something about walking into a shop and spotting that "gem in the haystack." A gem which you never knew you quite needed until you took that first step. This Kate Spade number had that exact effect. Spotted at the Orlando outlets- a must for picking up a designer bargain.  With a print almost resembling that seen on the humble ol' "Humbug". Paired with a inspired outfit and backdrop courtesy of "Silver Springs". Who could resist a candy-esque, inspired purchase?

Holla from across the pond. Having landed on (last) Monday night exploring has been in full swing, this past week. Some highlights have to include holding a ACTUAL baby alligator, after going on a swamp tour. Yep that really happened, and is it weird to say that I actually found it quite adorable. With picture proof and everything. We also headed out to Kennedy Space Centre to channel our "inner astronaut".  Which included seeing the place where Apollo 11 took off, to embark on that all-too-famous moon landing in the late 60's. My inner geek was going crazy. We even learn't that up into the sky above us is a team of astronauts working at the "International Space Centre"- as I type. Crazy!

Outfit wise as the weather out here is extremely hot and humid- light layers are a must. With "galaxy-dressing" serving as inspiration, because dressing the part is what I do best. I teamed this quilted white drop waist skirt- a bargain purchase from boohoo, with this subtly printed palm-tree top and those retro mirrored cat-eye sunglasses. Posing next to a group of astronauts, never felt more fitting.
